I have discovered a new brilliant tool for the iphone called 'roam bi'. I was very impressed by how slick it was and we will almost certainly use it for our business. We've launched another web site for Business Objects XI under http://www.businessobjectsxi.co.uk

Business Objects Training London

I've been looking at a company called Eyecademy who seem to be experts in the design and delivery of learning solutions for SAP Business Objects. According to their web site they do standard classroom Business Objects Training courses, e-Learning, Virtual Classrooms and BOCP coaching services.

You can find them at www.businessobjectstraininglondon.com

Business Objects Scotland

I had the great idea of buying up www.businessobjectsscotland.com only to discover that Business Objects In Scotland has been bought up already by none other than Eyecademy. They seem to have stolen the march on me with Microsoft as they also seem to own www.microsoftscotland.com
Ah well, back to the drawing board.

Eyecademy

Well, I thought I better post something of interest so here goes. I have been on a few courses over the past two years and I have to say that its been a pretty mixed bag in terms of quality. The best by far was a couple of courses run by a newish company called Eyecademy who are based in Glasgow but seem to do a lot all over the UK (according to the trainer). They seem to be the best choice for Oracle in Scotland where I'm based. The trainer really knew his stuff.

I attended the 10g Oracle intro to SQL at their office in Buchanan street which went very well. I feel able to sit the exam now which was the main reason I was there.

My boss has set me the task of installing and rolling out Business Objects XI r3 so I asked about courses and it seems they do these as well. I guess if you can do database systems it makes sense to offer the other technologies that are based on them. Anyway, last week I went to the Eyecademy training centre in Edinburgh. Very nice. I was particularly impressed by the fact I got breakfast free in the morning before the course started. Thats a nice touch. They offer Business Objects in Scotland and beyond.

Business Objects seem to have been swallowed up by SAP so its good to have smaller companies out there offering flexibility. Eyecademy also have something which I've never seen before from a small company- free content.

If you go to their website at www.eyecademy.com they have a 'knowledge' link which lists the various free knowledge options such as a Business Objects Dictionary.

I asked the trainer about this and he said that its fine to print this off as a reference guide. I mean , c'mon. You wouldn't get this from any of the big boys of training who seem to be in a feeding frenzy at the moment swallowing each other up. Its a pretty far-thinking company who give away something like this. Even better they had a Business Intelligence Map which was exactly what I was looking for to illustrate to the boss man how the whole thing hangs together.
